Melissa has always had a passion for creating art. From her formative years of designing doll clothes to her current studio in Vancouver, art has played a major role in shaping her life. She began her art training at Langara College, where she completed a two year Fine Arts Program, dabbling in a range of media.
Her scholastic adventures then brought her to The Alberta College of Art and Design, where she focused her studies on Functional Ceramics. She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2006, where she majored in ceramics and minored in painting.
After living for three years in Victoria and participating in the Bastion Square Public Market she returned home to Vancouver. She currently works on functional and sculptural ceramics as well as abstract and landscape paintings at Dirty Clay Studios. Her main focus these days is exploring the sculptural elements of buildings.
